Well, the air date for the first Top Gear Australia has been announced.

On 29 September 2008, at 7.30pm on SBS, top Gear Australia will launch. If you intend to call me during this time, be prepared for a barrage of swearing, followed by me hanging up on you.

I have put in my application for studio audience tickets, you can do the same at the SBS website.

The controls are too sensitive.
The drift scoring is stupid.
The tracks are crap.
The cars are too twitchy.

Biggest waste of money in a long time. This game is going straight on the never played pile.

I can not recommend the Pancake Parlour enough. The food there is delicious and the staff are always friendly. I recommend the big country breakfast and it is always worth paying the extra for a pot of real maple syrup.

Try them out sometime, you will enjoy.

Those who know me well, know that I love trivia. My mind is a plethora of useless facts. They also know that Kathryn and I attend trivia nights regularly.

Well last night we attended another one, and I am pleased to say orur team won the evening. That makes it about 4 wins and 3 seconds in about 8 nights (there is also one I won’t talk about). I would like to say congratulations and thankyou to the other people in our team, and in the teams we have joined in the past. We had great fun and can’t wait for the next one.

While I am at it I would also like to thank the Quizmaster (not sure what his name was) and the HMAS Harman Wardroom (Officers Mess) for putting on a fantastic night. I intend on attending next year and hopefully taking another win.

Why would you make a tv series that only goes for 6 episodes??? Especially when we have been waiting six months since the last series.
For those that don’t know, this Sundays episode of Top Gear on the UK is the last of this series. On the upside I will only have to wait 3 months to the next series. Goddammit Clarkson stop being so lazy and make the show 20 episodes to a season.

Now this has been known for a while now but I am finally starting to get excited about after one of my customers started talking about it today. It is the Volkswagen Touareg R50. The big brother of the Golf R32 and Passat R36.

It has a Bi-Turbo Diesel V10, to the tune of 5 litres, producing 258kW and 850Nm. It has all the body styling signs of the other R series cars. Chrome, aggressive stance, sexy grilles..pure visual excitement. It all sits on 21×10 wheels..but I can sort that out with a set of 24 inch D’Vinci or Status wheels. When someone brings me one to do, you will know all about it.

The R50 is not cheap…but most VWs are expensive compared to their rivals…prices start at $10 short of $130k. For now just enjoy the pics (from the VW site).

As always new posts will come whenever I feel like but at least every couple of days. Sometimes I will post about cars, and my car articles, sometimes life and sometimes just crap that comes into my head.
